I have several vacuum cleaners at big lots in my home. The very Best buy on vacuum cleaners, of those is a very expensive corded Miele canister vac. So, I have a broad range of vacuums to compare to. Why so many? I have a tri-level home and like having a vacuum cleaners 2021 on each floor, so we don’t have to haul them up and down stairs. I do like this vacuum very much and deducted one star for some minor considerations which I will explain later.

This little vacuum is replacing a central vac. The central vac hose would rub against baseboard and harm the paint. Always bothered me. Flooring installer mention this little machine. Decided a flooring installer would know quality in a vacuum, and he does. We use it exclusively on hardwood flooring, works great. Long and adjustable shoulder strap makes it comfortable to carry. Thirty foot cord means you’re not constantly unplugging as you go along.
02. STANLEY Wet/Dry Vacuum SL18115, Stainless Steel Tank, 5 Gallon 4HP Shop Vacuum
I bought this for use in a classroom woodshop club. Used it once a week for about 9 months until one day, in the middle of clean up, it died. I hadn’t even filled up the bag it came with yet. I called the company (Alton Industries) who said that since I purchased it through Amazon, that Amazon had to be the ones to apply for the warranty refund/replace. Amazon said to talk to the manufacturer. I just took the loss and decided to leave this review instead. Buyer beware! It is an okay vacuum that won’t last and you won’t have any support when it fails.
I bought this vacuum to replace a similar sized Shopvac which after 5 years, the motor failed. The price of this unit was less than a replacement motor for the Shopvac, which might have been a clue to what I was getting. The Stanley is well made but a bit louder than my old one. What annoys me is the hose is too short and the filter (a bag type) requires cleaning too often. I am hoping to find a HEPA filter and adapt the hose off of the other vacuum to solve these two problems. Otherwise, it works fine.
Shipped fast. Not too hard to put together. Suction is great. The reason for the 3 stars is that it has a bag you have to insert like a regular vacuum cleaner and you have to take the bag out and attach a wet filter for wet pick up. All my other wet/dry vacuums picked up wet/dry with no bags and no filters to attach. This is a lot of trouble, plus you have to buy replacement bags. In my opinion, this is not a true wet/dry vacuum.

I bought this to replace my former Hoover bagged vacuum cleaner. call me old-fashioned but I like the bags. I really like the automatic bag attachment feature. The Hoover y great value Walmart brand bags will fit! I was a little worried about that but, it was all for nothing. It does come with its own bag, but the great vacuum cleaners at big lots value y style Hoover bags at Walmart fit. I like the long cord, I like it’s easy to use, it’s definitely a great vacuum if you still like the bag vacuum like I do.
I’m not upset with it at all. Packaging is minimum, there isn’t any white foam/ styrofoam packaging. It’s all cardboard. I was able to put the whole thing together without directions, and if I can do it then a 5-year-old could do it. Definitely worth what I paid for and I’m completely satisfied.

So easy that use vacuum cleaners at big lots and put together. I completely don’t like the fact that it has to be gone over and over again on your floors because it doesn’t pick up much. I’m very very happy with the purchase however because even though it does have to go over and over on the floor I was very easy to put together it’s very easy to use. The filters are also extremely easy to change which makes it very easy just to store and it’s very small so it could be stored anywhere in a small apartment.
I ordered this to replace the one I’d had for years that finally went out on me. But after using multiple times daily for over 5 years, for a product that cost me at the time $15, I wasn’t upset about it. I love the easy use of this little vacuum. I mainly use it on hardwood and tile floor and it’s a great vacuum. I can’t really attest to how well it does on carpet because I don’t use it for that. Great value! I was so happy they still made this model!
